HUMANS - by Wensley Pique
We are all prejudiced. Within a second and a half your brain forms a first impression. The question is: What do you do with that first impression?

Together with dancer Mami Izumi Jivika Biervliet faced the theme 'My Religion' as the life research. The word ‘religion’ brought the idea of believe in understanding the way of life. Life is an endless transformation and a search within. What we feel is our reality and what brings you happiness is very personal. What we see in reality is where we believe in, the believing comes from your inner self; knowing your truth, standing for it and living that truth. Turn inside, recognize and express that which is exciting, standing for it and life it.
This performance is a translation of the search within. The search for a meaning of life as a journey that is never staying in the same form.

J. Flintstone stands for a mentality that refers to the need for a simple lifestyle without the influence of technology and information overflow. It is a reaction to the increasing complexity of the information society. We have created a world that is beyond our control and understanding. Because I think that too much knowledge can be dangerous, I want to encourage people with the collection to be more selective in the information they take in. It is human to not know everything. Sometimes it’s good to keep things as they are, like you see and experience it. With this collection you can hide, walk, drive and fly away: it's a form of escapism to get in touch with yourself again.

The collection "Forever Young" is born from the idea that when we are young, we do everything as quickly as possible to reach the state of maturity. As we become adults, we are longing back to our lost childhood which revolves around dreams, fantasies and freedom. I believe that growing up is not an obligation but a choice. The collection 'Forever Young' is a visualization of the inner child inside of us, that will live on forever. The beauty of youth, in which we can be whoever we'd like to be.
